On October 19th and 20th ‘The Art and Craft of our Parish 2024’ will be held in the village of Dockenfield in the Church of the Good Shepherd. This was designed in 1910 by William Curtis Green in the Arts and Crafts style using local Bargate stone, with funding from villagers, and sits unassumingly in its rural location, making an ideal setting for our work.
The weekend will be a friendly event with refreshments available. The work on show will include painting, photography, weaving, knitwear, textiles, candles, mosaics and sculpture for sale, with proceeds going to the upkeep of the church. There will also be a community art project by the children of St Mary’s infant school, Frensham.

The parish of Frensham and Dockenfield has several resident artists and craftsmen, both professional and amateur, some of whom are keen and talented photographers. They will be exhibiting photographs showcasing the abundant and varied wildlife found in the village’s greenspaces, and who’s work is highlighted in our popular Nature’s Seasons Calendar. The brand new 2025 edition will be premiered and available to purchase at the exhibition.

The event is free, with donations to church funds
